Oh boy! I am so stoked for this post! I have been wanting to do a great blog on all of the healthy foods you can purchase at Costco. Yes, for those who know me, you know I LOVE Whole Foods but Alex and I also love to load up on all of our ‘basics’ at Costco. Especially now that we are both competing together in October and loading up on more protein than most, LOL!
Below is a list of some of our favorites that Alex & I found on our last trip. Keep in mind, we do not work for nor receive any type of compensation from them. I’m just a girl that enjoys the healthy products and availability of healthy foods and I hope you will find this post most insightful and helpful.
Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon: One of our favorites for a quick ‘go to’ protein option that packs plenty of omega fats and asthaxanthin.
Healthy Raw Nuts: Nuts make GREAT snack options and are a wonderful way to get in good healthy fats. They are quite filling too! We love packing these into mason jars and freezing them so that they last long.
Frozen Organic Veggies and Fresh Greens: This is one of my favorites! I always like to stock up on broccoli, normandy veggies, green beans and plenty of spinach and mixed greens. Costco has a fabulous selection of organic produce too. These also come in handy packages that are easy to store and save.
Apple Cider Vinegar (with the Mother): ACV is one of my favorite protocols for the morning! It is great for gut health, alkalizing and hydrating the body and overall improved digestion. I like to dilute mine w/8 oz of water and also use this in a variety of dressing recipes.
Organic Coffee and Tea Selection: Who doesn’t love a nice strong cup of Joe or cup of warm tea? I am a huge advocate of purchasing organic coffee because this is a highly sprayed crop and you can ingest a lot of pesticides otherwise. Costco sells a wide variety of teas including black and green (my fav).
Salsa/Hummus/Guacamole: These make great ‘dips’ for veggies or healthy snacks. I love making my own guacamole but for those times where you are pinched or in a rush, you can’t beat this quick option!
Eggs and Egg Whites: Such a great source of protein and I love that they sell an extra large 24 count serving of these! For those who are rushed or looking for a quicker option for egg whites, you can buy yours in bulk.
Chia Seeds: I love these! They sell great chia AND hemp (not pictured) which are great additions to your breakfast foods or smoothies in the morning. I also have some awesome dessert recipes on the Inner Circle using Chia. YUM!
Coconut Oil: Oh yeah! Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE Coconut oil! From cooking, adding as a topping or addition to smoothies, oil pulling and skin hydration, coconut oil boasts TONS of great benefits and many ways to use it!
Seasonings and Himalayan Salt: I love the wide variety of seasonings sold at Costco! Eating clean and healthy doesn’t mean eating void of taste. You can learn new ways to season and make your food taste delicious! Tip: I prefer to purchase sodium free seasonings and then add himalayan salt! HS has so many benefits and is actually considered a supplement! I also love that I can use this to season without water retention.
Not pictured here (but they do sell) are the following:
- Organic Beef
- Bison
- A wide variety of wild caught fresh fish
- Oats
There you have it! I am still on a mission to upload new products & healthy items that I find at Costco but for my first trip, these are among my favorites. I will be creating a ‘Costco’ thread on the A+A Inner Circle so if you want to stay up to date on additional products that I come across or A TON of other AMAZING posts (recipes, workout plans, fitness tips, lifestyle tips, meal prep tips and more) visit & join our Community today! We have a great network of like minded individuals engaging together and seeking to live the healthy lifestyle together. A support network on this journey makes it so much easier! 🙂
As always, blessed to be your ‘Healthy Living’ Coaches.
